Ranjan K. Agarwal, B.A. (Hon.) (Alberta) 1999, LL.B. (Ottawa) 2003, M.A. (International Affairs) (Carleton) 2004, LL.M. (Osgoode Hall Law School) 2011, called to the Bar of Ontario in 2004, partner at the firm of Bennett Jones LLP. Ranjan practices complex litigation, including commercial, class action, constitutional and employment law. He has been counsel on thirteen appeals in the Supreme Court of Canada, including Bedford v Canada, Carter v Canada and R v. NS. Ranjan is co-chair of The Advocates' Society's Class Actions Practice Group and co-author of Class Actions Law and Practice, 2nd ed. He is also President of the South Asian Bar Association and Chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Constitutional, Civil Liberties and Human Rights section. In 2012, Precedent magazine recognized Ranjan as one of its Precedent Setter Award winners for his advocacy and commitment to pro bono and public interest litigation. He can be contacted at
