Marc Isaacs

Marc D. Isaacs, LL.B. (Osgoode) 1994, LL.M. in Admiralty, with distinction (Tulane) 2002, was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1996. Following his call to the Bar, Mr. Isaacs practiced civil and insurance litigation until receiving a Graduate Law Fellowship from the Admiralty Law Institute at Tulane University Law School where he pursued graduate studies in maritime law. Mr. Isaacs was the recipient of the award for the outstanding graduate student in admiralty law as well as an editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. He now practices admiralty law at Isaacs & Co. in Toronto. In recent years Mr. Isaacs has been involved in a number of important maritime cases dealing with the scope of Canada’s Admiralty Jurisdiction and the effect of exclusive jurisdiction clauses in bills of lading. Mr. Isaacs is Vice President of the Canadian Maritime Law Association, the Treasurer of the Canadian Transportation Lawyers Association and a member of The Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters.  Mr. Isaacs has been included in “Best Lawyers in Canada” under Maritime Law for since 2009.
