Leslie McCallum

Leslie McCallum, BComm (Queen’s) 1992, LLB (Toronto) 1995, LLM (Columbia) 1997, practices law in the capital markets and M&A groups at Torys LLP. She is called to the bars of Ontario and New York and practices both Canadian and U.S. law. Leslie’s practice focuses on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.  She focuses on developing precedents and client communications, tracking new Canadian and U.S. legal developments, research and consulting with the firm’s lawyers, primarily on cross-border matters.  Leslie has represented issuers and underwriters in cross-border equity and debt financings, and regularly advises on compliance with U.S. and Canadian securities laws.From 1998 to 2004 she practiced in the capital markets group at Shearman & Sterling LLP. In her articling year she was a law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Her co-publications include the Canadian Companies' Guide to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Butterworths: 2004) and Cross-Border Offerings: U.S. Securities Regulation for Canadian Issuers (CCH: 2007).
