Adjunct Moot Advisor

Andy Shaughnessy, B.Sc. (Queen’s) 1987, LL.B. (Queen’s) 1991, called to the bar of Ontario 1993. Andy is a partner in Torys' Litigation Practice. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and Federal Court practice. Andy has represented a wide variety of clients in complex patent and trademark infringement and related litigation. He has been an advocate before the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as specialized tribunals such as the Trade-marks Opposition Board and the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board. Andy is a well-known speaker, author and contributor in Canada. He also serves as the Chair of the Court Practices Committee of the CBA National IP Section, the Secretary of the Canadian Practice Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association and the Member at Large for the OBA’s IP/IT Section. He is an adjunct mooting advisor at the University of Toronto School of Law, where he oversees the school’s participation in the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot.
