This course will examine issues arising out of the transmission of property upon death. Topics will include testate and intestate succession, limitations on testamentary freedom, formalities of execution and revocation of wills, testamentary capacity, testamentary trusts, tax planning on death and common drafting issues.

Evaluation
Two written assignments. The first assignment will be 2,000 to 2,500 words (40%) and the second assignment will be 4,000 to 5,000 words (60%).
