The Blackboard program will be used for this course. Students must self-enrol in Blackboard prior to the start of school in both terms in order to obtain course information.

This course examines the enforcement of promises and agreements. The matters considered include the requirements of enforceability, remedies for breach, the effect of contracts on third parties, the effect of
writing, and excuses for non-performance.

Evaluation
will be by one-hour open-book December test (potentially 20% of the final examination grade if it is to the student’s advantage), written assignments (70% in total), and a final, open-book examination of two hours (30%, subject to the December test component if counting the December test is to the student’s advantage).
