Students must be registered in Environmental Law (LAW239H1F) in order to be eligible to participate in the Environmental Law Practicum

Law Practicum Students may obtain an additional ungraded credit for working on a current environmental case or issue with an environmental law practitioner. Students should sign up for the practicum when they sign up for the course. Assignments will be made at the beginning of the first semester and will take approximately 24 hours to complete. Assignments must be completed at the latest, by end of March 2013. Deadlines will depend on timing of the practicum and will be determined by the instructors on an individual basis. Credit for the practicum will not be granted until the practicum is completed. Therefore, the practicum credit is earned in the second term. The practicum placement may involve civil actions, prosecutions, administrative hearings or appeals. The practicum will be directed by Julia Croome and Eric Gillespie, practitioners with environmental experience, in consultation with Professor Green. The number of practicum placements may be limited depending on the availability of appropriate assignments.

Evaluation
Students have the following options: (i) write a short paper, total length about 2500 words on the insights this experience shed on the issues covered in the class; or (ii) extend the length of their research paper in Environmental Law by 2500 words with this extended paper engaging with the issue that is the subject of their practicum experience. In addition, all students will participate in a discussion class, to take place in early March 2013. Each student will present on their practicum experience for approximately 10-15 minutes.
