Note: The Blackboard program will be used for this course. Students must self-enrol in Blackboard as soon as confirmed in the course in order to obtain course information.

A survey course of environmental law and policy with a particular emphasis on Ontario law and federal law. Topics will include pollution control, climate change, environmental assessment and corporate environmental responsibility. We will also examine the economic and scientific background to environmental issues and consider problems with current regulatory and liability regimes.

Evaluation
The students will be responsible for circulating a reaction memorandum of up to 500 words for each of two classes. These memoranda will not be graded but will count towards the participation mark (20%). In addition, the students will be responsible for a 6,000 word paper on an issue of their choosing (80%).
