Robert Law Fellowship in Legal Ethics

The Robert Law Fellowship in Legal Ethics

From the Spring 2000 issue of Nexus.

A new fellowship for graduate study in legal ethics has been established by a gift of $100,000 made jointly by Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited and Cassels Brock & Blackwell. This gift has been matched by the university to create an endowment of $200,000 in honour of Mr. Robert Law. The Faculty is grateful for the opportunity to promote graduate studies in this important area of scholarship.

Robert Law was a director, secretary, and general counsel of Canadian Tire Corp. over a period of 43 years and has been associated with the firm Cassels Brock & Blackwell and a predecessor firm for over 45 years. Throughout his career, Mr. Law demonstrated a level of integrity, honesty and fairness exemplary to the profession. This fellowship is a fitting tribute to a consummate legal professional.
