Financial Aid Timeline - First-Year

First-year students' Financial Aid Applications are due within four weeks of date of offer of admission. Final deadline for applying is July 16. 

January onwardsFaculty of Law Financial Aid Applications are made available to students with offers of admission.
March onwardsProvisional Financial Aid Notices of Assessment are sent from Faculty.
Late April

Government Student Financial Assistance Programs applications become available. Apply as early as possible because -

  • processing of government student financial assistance applications may take a long time.
  • proof of having applied, and being eligible for, government student financial assistance can be used in early August to defer payment of tuition to a later date.
May 1Scotia Professional Student Plan Online Application for next academic year. Complete and submit application no later than May 31st. 
July 16Final deadline for Faculty of Law financial aid application for first-year students. Applications received after this date will only be eligible for interest-free loans.
August 8

Deadline for requesting deferral of payment of tuition (if receiving government assistance or third-party funding)

OR

Deadline for paying minimum first payment

September
  • First day of classes
  • Final supporting documentation due to complete Faculty Financial Aid process due on September 18
  • Other provinces' government student loan documents (first installment)ready for signing by Faculty of Law Financial Aid Office staff
Late OctoberFinal Financial Aid Notices of Assessment available for pick-up from Faculty
Early NovemberFaculty’s Bursary Awards applied to student accounts
Early January
  • Other provinces' government student loan documents (second installment) ready for signing by Faculty of Law Financial Aid Office staff
Late February

Bank statements showing amount of line of credit taken out to-date  due in order to receive interest payments on interest-free loans

 Mid March Interest payments provided to students via ROSI student accounts
