The University of Toronto Faculty of Law offers a number of leading edge courses and programs for practicing lawyers and law graduates, and for business leaders who do not have a law degree but who work in areas requiring some interaction and knowledge of legal issues. Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM)
The Faculty of Law has partnered with faculty from the Rotman School of Management, INSEAD Business School (Paris) and NYU Law School to establish an innovative part-time executive program for lawyers and business leaders. Focused on Canadian business law from a global perspective, the Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM) is a 12-month executive-style master of laws offered during evenings and weekends.
Internationally Trained Lawyers Program
For internationally educated lawyers who are new to the Canadian legal profession, requalifying and starting practice here can be a challenging proposition. The Faculty's award-winning Internationally Trained Lawyers Program (ITLP) provides an extensive menu of courses and programs to facilitate the transition to a successfully licensed professional, including preparation and review courses for National Committee on Accreditation and Ontario bar exams, career workshops and internship opportunities, and courses on legal research and writing, legal technology, and cultural fluency.
NCA Review Program (NCAR)
The Internationally Trained Lawyers Program's NCA Review Program (NCAR) is a part-time intensive program providing dedicated NCA exam preparation support. Seven NCAR courses are offered twice a year on evenings and weekends before the August and January NCA challenge exams.
Bar Examination Preparation Course
The Bar Examination Preparation course offers expert, supportive teachers, test-taking and organizing strategies, practice exam questions, and classes on evening and weekends. Sessions are held in the Spring and the Fall.
Continuing Professional Development
The Faculty of Law provides many opportunities for lawyers to enhance their knowledge, promote their career aspirations, and fulfill their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements. Generally, these events can be registered for individually.
