Faculty of Law Bursaries & Scholarships

Domestic JD degree students are considered automatically for all merit and needs-based awards offered by the Faculty. In 2014-2015 close to $2.9 million in bursaries was distributed progressively among students who demonstrated financial aid, with an average bursary received of $8,483.

Applications
Students do not apply for specific bursaries or scholarships. Instead, first consideration for all Faculty of Law awards is given to students who have demonstrated financial need, as determined from their applications to the JD Financial Aid Program.

 External Bursaries & Scholarships

We encourage students to research awards offered by other University of Toronto and external sources, and apply to as many awards for which they are eligible, by each award's established deadlines.

Aboriginal Students
Aboriginal students may be eligible for financial assistance from either the Department of Justice Canada, Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada or the students' home band administration office for both the Saskatchewan Program and the JD Program.

Awards for Diverse Students

We encourage students to apply to as many awards for which they are eligible, by each award's established deadlines.
