Based on its innovative curriculum and program delivery model, the Global Professional LL.M. was selected for presentation at Future Ed 2: Making Global Lawyers for the 21st Century, an invitational conference at Harvard Law School in October 2010. Alongside some 30 other proposals outlining ground-breaking reforms and new ideas in legal education, the University of Toronto Faculty of Law’s Global Professional LL.M. in Business Law was evaluated by an audience of expert scholars, practicing lawyers, regulators, and business leaders. The program was refined during working group sessions with other leaders at the cutting-edge of legal education, and offers a carefully designed program for lawyers and leaders in business and government seeking intellectual engagement and practical training.
Note: The GPLLM does not in itself qualify graduates to practice law in Canada. However, starting in September 2012, students will be able to take courses designed to meet the National Committee of Accreditation's requirements for internationally trained lawyers.
